St. Johnstone vs St. Mirren
Scotland – Premiership
Date: Tuesday, 26th March 2019
Kick-off at 19.45 UK/ 20.45 CET
Venue: McDiarmid Park (Perth).
Both these teams are extremely underperforming in the Premiership right now. Johnstone at least has some points on the board, and comparatively can afford some complacency. But St. Mirren is set for relegation, and obviously is at the bottom-most of the league table.
Mirren has recorded just 17 points so far from their 29 games and has managed just over 0.5 points per match. The team is easily the worst on the road and has conceded the most road goals as well. All season, they have posted just a single win away from home and lost nine of their fourteen road ties so far.
Johnstone is dangerously close to becoming the laughing stock of the league, and this game is almost surely their last chance to save face. They are at home, against the worst team in the Premiership. The hosts simply have no option but to take the three points.

St. Johnstone vs St. Mirren Prediction
St. Mirren is easily the worst team in the entire league. They are also the worst on the road. They have conceded the most goals away from home, and so far has won just a single such game. Against St. Johnstone, the team lost the last four ties in a row and five of the last six at this venue. They were also winless in 27 of their last 31 fixtures, and in 18 of their last 19 on the road.
On the other hand, Johnstone, though struggling right now, has posted far better stats at home. They remained unbeaten in 15 of their last 22 home ties and scored two or more goals in four of their last six h2h home matches.
The encounter is going to be very close, but the realization that a loss will cement the hosts’ role as the current-worst, and will result in total lack of respect, should encourage them to sweat blood on the pitch and somehow record a win.
But it’s going to be very tough to achieve, and for the same reason, goals will be really scarce in the game. Moreover, 14 of the last 18 h2h ties, 16 of the last 22 h2h match-ups at this venue, and 15 of the last 22 home games for Johnstone, all had under 2.5 goals.
Expect no more than three goals this Tuesday.
