St. Johnstone vs Dundee
Date: Saturday, 30 December 2017
Kick-Off: 15:00 UK
Venue: McDiarmid Park (Perth).
St. Johnstone failed to back up the surprising 1-3 away win at Ibrox as they played back-to-back draws with the likes of Hearts and Ross County in last two Premiership rounds. The Saints will, however, have a nice opportunity to return on the winning ways this Saturday when they are to host the struggling Dundee side at McDiarmid Park.
The Dark Blues could not do much to avoid a 0-2 defeat to the reigning champions Celtic on Tuesday evening. It was their third defeat in last five matches as Neil McCann’s side seems to be returning to the old habits after they did manage to escape the rock-bottom of the standings with shocking back-to-back wins over Rangers and Ross County.
Things look really poor on the road for Dundee who have lost seven, drawn two and won one of ten matches away from their Dens Park so far in the season. They did manage to hold Motherwell to a 1-1 draw last weekend, but repeating such success at McDiarmid Park will be quite a challenge for McCann and his men.
St.Johnstone are still inside the top six in the league standings even though they’ve been horrendous in front of the home crowd as of late. Their manager Tommy Wright will be desperate to see his men bouncing back and ending the horrific spell of form (caused by a tough schedule) at home where the Saints lost four and drew two of last six matches netting only a single goal along the way.
