Venue: Yankee Stadium (New York).

Liverpool have failed to pick up a win in their last two ties and will be hoping to turn things around when they take on the side from Portugal.

Despite tasting success in all of their initial ties, by a considerable goal difference, the team lost out to Borussia Dortmund by a 3-2 scoreline, followed by a 2-1 loss at the hands of Sevilla.

The game against the Spanish outfit looked poised to end in a draw after David Origi canceled out Nolito’s opener before the break. However, Pozo spoiled the party for the Reds with a late winner in the dying minutes of the game.

Sporting came in third in the league last season and won the Taca de Portugal in the shoot outs against FC Porto, after the scores were tied at 1-1, even after extra time. The team have not been faring well in their friendlies though and are without a win in each of their last three matchups.

We can certainly expect an exciting clash on Thursday, with the reigning European Champions sizing up as the better of the two sides to clinch the win.

Sporting vs Liverpool Prediction

Liverpool have scored twelve goals in their preseason matches so far and have conceded as little as six in the process.

Rhian Brewster chipped in for his side with four of his own and has not found the back of the net in just one out of his last four games. Expect Jurgen Klopp’s men to rack up the goals tally in this one, along with the in-form Brewster to find the back of the net, should he feature.

Sporting have not had a result go their way since May when they beat Porto. However, the squad have been consistent in getting their names on the scoresheet and have netted five goals to their name.

With both sides failing to keep a clean sheet in their last two games, a high scoring clash is definitely in the reckoning, with Liverpool more than likely to be the ones to come out on top with the win.
