SPAL will be hoping to end their bad run on Saturday when they welcome in-form Parma in one of the Emilian derbies. Both teams are scoring and conceding above league’s average.

SPAL vs Parma: Head-to-head (h2h)

  • Overall Stats (36 games): SPAL 13 wins, Parma 10 wins, 13 draws
  • These two sides played each other in the previous campaign, and SPAL came on top on both occasions (1-0h, 3-2a).
  • The Spalini had more of the game in both outings vs Gialloblu’s as they took 30 shots combined (15-3h, 15-9a).
  • We would have to dive deep into history books to see their previous meetings.

SPAL vs Parma: Predicted Starting Lineups

SPAL vs Parma: Prediction

With just three points from six games, SPAL are currently 19th in the standings, seemingly destined for relegation scrap. Gli Spalini managed to upset Lazio (2-1), but ended up empty-handed in next three fixtures – against Sassuolo (0-3), Lecce (1-3) and Juventus (0-2).

They will be looking to end this bad run on Saturday when they welcome Parma in one of the Emilian derbies. Their injury list is rather long with Fares, D’Alessandro, Di Francesco, Kurtic and Valoti all ruled out.

Parma, sitting at 9th position with three wins and three losses, will travel to Ferrara in a good mood after two dramatic wins over Sassuolo (1-0) and Torino (3-2), both recorded at Ennio Tardini.

The unpredictable Gialloblu’s could’ve scored more against the 10-men Granata as Gervinho missed a penalty and an absolute sitter. The promising youngster Dejan Kulusevski was a man of the match with a goal and an assist before the half-time. Grassi is likely to miss this one.

SPAL, with a win-draw-lose record of 1-0-2 at home, have an average of 1.67 scored goals per game at Paolo Mazza Stadium, but they’re leaking goals all over the place with 2.33 per bout. They’re desperate for a win here and I’m positive they will play an attacking football.

Parma are scoring and conceding the same amount of goals on the road – 1.50. The Gialloblu’s are a tricky side and they’ve finally found another source of goals and assists. They will visit regional rivals with a point to prove after two dreadful performances last season.

I’m going to pick both teams to score here, as numbers supports that, and look for the action in the second half – five of six last season’s goals came after the break.
