SPAL vs Juventus
Italian Serie A.
Date: Saturday, 17 March 2018
Kick-Off: 19:45 UK,
Venue: Stadio Paolo Mazza (Ferrara).
Juventus are flying high at the moment. They’re in the finals of the Coppa Italia and booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. And now they’re four points clear of Napoli in the Scudetto after beating Atalanta in their midweek fixture. Although it’s two months till the end of the season, no one can argue that Juventus aren’t looking good to be on course for a seventh straight league title.
Napoli obviously haven’t given up hope – after all, they have thrown everything into trying to win their first league title in over two decades, but it goes without saying that Juventus will have the huge advantage heading into this contest and will be expected to cruise to a relatively comfortable win here.
SPAL, for their part, are currently out of the relegation zone, but only just. Thanks to their slightly better goal differential, they sit in 17th spot, but are tied on points with 16th-placed Crotone and 18th-placed Sassuolo. The Squali face a tough home fixture against Roma, whilst the struggling Neroverdi take on Udinese on the road, whilst Chievo, who are in 15th and one point ahead are set to lock horns with AC Milan on Sunday.
Juventus will have to make do with Juan Cuadrado and Federico Bernadeschi due to injury, whilst Mehdi Benatia is suspended, but that should have no impact on the result here. La Vecchia Signroa cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win in the two sides’ first meeting this season and should be able to pick up a straightforward three points here.
SPAL have shipped 50 goals so far, and despite being on a three game unbeaten streak, with wins in two of those, the hosts are expected to be up against it here.

SPAL vs Juventus: Prediction
Juventus come into this game having won 12 out of their last 14 away fixtures, including their last eight. Overall, they have won their last 12 straight Serie A games, keeping a clean sheet in their last nine and historically, SPAL have won just one of their last 33 Serie A meetings against the Bianconeri. Barring a shocking collapse of epic proportions, it’s hard to see how Allegri’s men will end up losing here, and keeping another clean sheet looks set to be on the cards as well.
