SPAL vs Juventus
Italian Serie A
Date: Saturday, 13 April 2019
Kick-Off 14:00 UK / 15:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Paolo Mazza (Ferrara).
SPAL ended their three-win streak with a 2-1 defeat to Cagliari six days ago away at Sardegna Arena. They still have dig seep to secure survival in the elite tier of Italian football being just four points above the red zone line with seven games left to play.
Leonardo Semplici’s team are now looking at a tough fixture against defending champions and souvereign leaders Juventus before a thread of three easier ties with Empoli, Genoa and Chievo.
Can they take advantage of Juve’s lack of interest for domestic affairs when they are in the midst of a Champions League quarter-final tie against Ajax and avoid a defeat on Saturday afternoon at Stadio Paolo Mazza?
Bianconeri all but secured the new title with as many as 20 points between them and second-placed Napoli at the moment. Massimiliano Allegri’s men are much more concentrated on going all way in the Champions League.
However, this has been the case for the last couple of months already and it did not prevent the strongest team in the country to win matches with half strength.
SPAL vs Juventus: Head-to-head
Juve won two and drew one of three head to head encounters with Spallini.
Both wins came at Allianz Stadium, though, as the only clash played at Stadio Paolo Mazza saw SPAL holding the favourites to a goalless draw in March last year.
SPAL vs Juventus: Prediction
SPAL showed strength in back-to-back home wins over the likes of Roma and Lazio in recent home outings. They shipped just three goals in last four league affairs. Juve, on the other side, managed a second-half comeback to see off Milan in last weekend’s derby at Allianz Stadium.
Youngster Moise Kean took advantage of the opportunity to play in the absence of main stars in the last couple of months. He has five goals in seven appearances of the Old Lady and will likely lead the line on Saturday against SPAL.
Juve own the best defensive record in the entire league and they shipped just one goal in last three league ties. With their lack of genuine motivation and SPAL’s decent defensive form in latest outings, the Under 2.5 goals FT looks like the best betting option at the odds of 1.61.
