SPAL vs Juventus
Italian Serie A
Date: Saturday, 22 February 2020
Kick-off at 17:00 UK / 18:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Paolo Mazza (Ferrara)
The reigning champions will be looking to end their two-game losing run on the road when they travel to Ferrara to face last-placed SPAL.
SPAL remained at the bottom of the Serie A following a 1-2 road defeat in the relegation dogfight against Lecce. Former Azzurrini boss Luigi Di Bagio got them to play some positive football at the Via Del Mare, but they couldn’t find the second equalizer.
The Ferrara-based outfit are going through a rough patch having lost four games on the trot and with 15 points on the board, they’re eight points off of safety.
Gli Spalini have the second-worst home record in the league with two wins, two draws and seven defeats to date, averaging 0.91 goals scored per game while allowing 1.64 per bout. They have lost five of their last six games at the Stadio Paolo Mazza.
Ronaldo-less Juventus bounced back from Hellas Verona defeat with a 2-0 victory against ten-man Brescia, who saw Florian Aye sent off, and leapfrogged Inter to reclaim the top spot. Maurizio Sarri’s boys are struggling on the road, but fortunately for them, Allianz Stadium remains a fortress.
With four wins and two losses from their last six league matches, Juve are third in the six-game form table and first overall, one point ahead of high-flying Lazio and three points clear of Inter Milan.
The Bianconeri have posted seven wins, two draws and three losses on their travels this season, scoring 1.42 goals per match on average, whilst shipping 1.08 per game. Juventus have picked up six points from their last five road games (2W, 3L).

SPAL vs Juventus: Prediction
The table toppers are clear favorites to claim three points on Saturday, but there is no value in taking them at these odds, so I have to make some adjustments.
SPAL tend to score against big teams in Ferrara, whilst Juventus are unable to keep a clean sheet away from home, having conceded ten goals in their last six away outings. I can see Juve winning this one 2-1 or 3-1. Therefore, I’m taking Away Win & BTTS – Yes.
As for my second pick, I’ll back well-rested Cristiano Ronaldo to net anytime at decent odds. The legendary forward, now six goals behind league’s leading goalscorer Ciro Immobile, has bagged fifteen goals in his last ten league games for the club.
