Southampton vs Swansea
English Premier League.
Date: Sunday, 18 September, 2016,
Kick-off: 14:15 UK
Venue: St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton, Hampshire.
Southampton haven’t wished for a worse start to the new season after finishing 6th in the Premier League in 2015/16. They picked two points from their opening four matches so far with both of them coming at home, while they lost in each of their two away games so far. But there are finally some positive signs for Claude Puel, who took charge at St.Mary’s this summer as his team earned a thumping 3-0 win over Sparta Prague in their inaugural Europa League match on Thursday.
Swansea defeated Burnley 1-0 in the matchday one of the 2016/17 Premier League season. Since then they lost back-to-back games and finally shown some brilliance in last week’s 2-2 draw against Chelsea at home. It is not at all that bad for the Swans at the moment as they remain unbeaten at home, but they need a drastic improvement on their away performance as they lost in 2 matches so far this season.

Southampton vs Swansea: Prediction
Despite their poor start to the league season, the Saints will be confident of a win after their excellent performance in the mid-week fixture against Sparta Prague. They have drawn both their home matches in Premier League this season and also poses a good head-to-head record over Swansea in all venues. The home side must edge this one, also considering the overall poor away form of Swansea since the beginning of last season.
