Southampton will be searching for salvation points in the last game of Saturday’s Premier League program as they host direct relegation rivals Leicester at St. Mary’s Stadium.
The Saints failed to back up the shocking win at Stamford Bridge as they fell 1-0 to direct rivals Leeds seven days ago at Elland Road.
New manager Ruben Selles can by no means be satisfied with the display his men have shown in that affair.
It was the fourth loss in the last five Premier League games for the Saints who are firmly holding the very foot of the league table at the moment.
Southampton are four points below the safe zone line and six points behind Saturday’s counterparts, meaning a win here would be of a huge significance for Selles and his troops.
Leicester, on the other side, won’t travel to St. Mary’s in much higher spirits either. They have lost the third game on the spin across competitions on Tuesday evening, falling 1-2 at home to Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
In Brendan Rodgers’ defense, the English manager has been without his main star James Maddison during this negative streak.
The Foxes are a completely different side with Maddison in the roster. The good news for their fans is that James has been in training and might feature on Saturday at St. Mary’s.
Either way, it is worth noting that Leicester have been absolutely toothless in the final third last weekend in a 0-1 defeat at the hands of table-toppers Arsenal.

This is a huge game for the hosts but we just don’t believe they have enough quality to either stay in the top flight of to beat Leicester this weekend.
