South Africa vs Namibia
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Friday, 28 June 2019
Kick off at 21:00 UK / 22:00 CET
Venue: Al Salam Stadium (Cairo).
South Africa succumbed to a defeat in their opening clash against Ivory Coast, with Jonathan Kodjia scoring the only goal of the game. Despite the squad enjoying the majority of possession in both halves, Desiree Ellis’s men failed to use it to their advantage. They managed to make just one attempt at goal in each half, with neither of those shots coming even close to working the goalkeeper.
It certainly was a dismal start to their campaign, and the team are now at rock bottom in the table along with Namibia.
Their counterparts brought a loss on themselves in their opening fixture against Morocco after Itamunua Keimune accidentally turned the ball into his own net while trying to clear a dangerous cross inside his team’s eighteen-yard box. The squad were far from their best in that game and managed just three attempts at goal, none which were even on target.
They also failed in keeping a majority of possession with the ball and finished the game with just 1/3rd of the entire possession. With the South Africans facing Morocco in their final group stage fixture and their counterparts clashing with Ivory Coast, the three points on Friday will be crucial in deciding whether either of them will be making it past the group stages this year.

South Africa vs Namibia Prediction
Namibia are likely to succumb to back to back defeats when they take on South Africa at the Al Salam Stadium on Friday in the second round group clash.
Both the squads were poor when it came to launching attacks in their previous fixtures and failed to come even close to getting their names on the score sheets.
However, the South Africans fared better than Ricardo Manetti’s side, in comparison, and have a slight upper hand over the latter in their clash against each other.
The game will certainly be coming down to whether the teams can be lethal and accurate in their respective attacking thirds. Both the teams are likely to share an equal possession of the ball in the ninety minutes.
We can also rule out the possibilities of the tie being a high scoring one, considering that their last two fixtures produced under 2.5 goals.
