Slovenia will be looking to recover from a dreadful display in the 3-0 disaster away at Austria just four days later when they are to host Belarus in the capital of Ljubljana. The Eastern European opposition should definitely be a much easier rival for the Dragons who desperately need the victory to boost up the confidence ahead of the new set of qualifiers and the new competition called UEFA Nations League.
Speaking of confidence, it’s just what Belarusians have gained on the same day, beating Azerbaijan 0-1 on the road to end a dismal run of results. Igor Kriushenko’s men have previously been on a streak of five losses and a draw, and the victory over Azers has definitely instilled some confidence into the players ahead of this trip to Slovenia and challenges of their own in the upcoming period.
Kriushenko does not have a true predator in the final third, but his men should have a nice chance to take advantage of the horrendous momentum in Slovenia’s back line which has shipped as many as five goals in last two games against Scotland and Austria.
On the other side, we have to mention Slovenia’s super impressive form on home soil where they’ve won four and drawn two of last six matches (including qualifications and friendlies) conceding in just one of these fixtures in the process.

This will be the fifth H2H clash between Slovenia and Belarus, the first since 2007 when they were battling it out in EURO 2008 Qualifications.
The Dragons have clinched their first victory over Belarus back in September 20078 (1-0).

Even though Slovenia have been tough to break down in home matches over the last couple of years, we do feel that Belarus could find the back of the net here.
