Sheffield United vs Bolton
English Championship
Date: Saturday, 2 February 2019
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Bramall Lane (Sheffield).
Sheffield United will have a nice opportunity to get back on winning track on Saturday when they play host to penultimate-placed Bolton Wanderers on Matchday No 30 at Bramall Lane.
The Blades had back-to-back tough away fixtures against in-form Swansea City and Norwich City. They claimed only a single point from these two ties. However, they at least avoided a defeat to the Canaries at Carrow Road thanks to a brace from league’s second top scorer Billy Sharp.
The English talisman took his league tally to 18 by bagging two goals against direct promotional rivals. The Blades are thus still within striking range of the second-placed Norwich City who are just three points away.
Chris Wilder’s men thus still have a chance to secure the automatic promotion to the top flight of English football at the end of the season.
Bolton lead the head to head tie by six wins, but the home court advantage played a massive role in the history of this match-up.
Sheffield United have a superb home record against the Trotters (24 wins, 9 draws and 8 defeats in 41 games at Bramall Lane).
The Blades claimed an easy 0-3 victory when they met Bolton Wanderers in August’s tie at Macron Stadium.
Sheffield United won three on the bounce in front of the home crowd and they are massive favourites to keep such form going against one of the weakest teams in the division. Bolton barely saved a point only thanks to a late stoppage-time equalizer on Tuesday night against fellow strugglers Reading.
The Trotters failed to score more than two goals in last five league outings (three defeats and two draws). They are winless in past 11 away games and they lost each of last five on the road in Championship.
We just can’t expect anything else but a one-way street for the hosts here.
