Shamrock Rovers vs Celtic
Date: Saturday, 8th July 2017
Kick off at 14:00 UK/ 15:00 CET
Venue: Tallaght Stadium.
Shamrock Rovers will be Celtic’s last test before the Champions League tie with neighbouring Linfield next Tuesday.
We can thus finally expect to see Brendan Rodgers’ men at their best after a couple of slow performances on the Austrian tour in the last couple of days.
The hosts are currently midway through the season in the top flight of the Irish football and they are certainly in a much better competitive form compared to Celtic.
However, we don’t expect Stephen Bradley to send his strongest lineup on the pitch knowing that the friendly comes only two days after an important second leg of their Europa League tie with Stjarnan.
Shamrock have generally been enjoying a decent run in Premier Division where they currently hold the fourth position after 21 rounds of the competition.
Celtic had a dream season last year when they have won everything they could have won in Scotland finishing the league season with record-breaking 106 points (34 wins and four draws).
Brendan Rodgers’s men are, however, miles away from their top competitive form since they notched only two goals in three friendlies on the Austrian tour against the likes of Blau-Weis Linz, Rapid Vienna and Slavia Prague.
Rodgers did not use his star men from the last season Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair in the last friendly with Slavia, but the duo is expected to start the clash with Shamrock this Saturday.

The Hoops are obviously massive favourites to boost up their confidence ahead of Champions League clashes with Linfield.
