Serbia vs Chile
Date: Monday, 4 June 2018
Kick-Off at 19:00 UK / 20:00 CET
Venue: Merkur Arena, Graz.
We are just ten days away from the start of World Cup in Russia. A lot of teams are catching last train in order to prepare and lift team spirits, including Serbia. The Eagles won their respective group after a big battle against Wales and Republic of Ireland, and public expectations are high. The first out of two games they will play before WC is schedule for Monday against Chile in Austria.
Since South American is not burdened to achieve a good result here, while having a couple of main stars absent, it is not surprising to see 1.80 odds on Serbia to win the match. Chile played against Romania a couple of days ago, losing it 3-2. It was an awkward duel truth be told. Castillo Mora was sent off in the 30th minute. Alexis Sanchez is not in protocol for these duels.
Serbia’s head manager Mladen Krstajic has announced the final list of players to head to Russia. Decision not to invite Frankfurt’s Mijat Gacinovic was a bit surprising. After securing the big value ticket, this team played two friendly games and we have seen two different approaches. Victory against Nigeria was well deserved, while 2-1 loss to Morocco a bit unexpected.
Serbia vs Chile: Head-to-head
These two nations have met only once in the past. It was a friendly duel played in late 2012. Serbians celebrated an easy 3-1 win thanks to the goals scored by Lazar Markovic, Filip Djordjevic and Filip Djuricic.
Serbia vs Chile: Predictions
More already mentioned above, Serbians are way more hyped for this match than their opposition. Keeping a clean sheet has been an issue for them though. I will place a small stake bet on Eagles to win and both teams to score as a value bet.
As for the safer alternative, I am going with Over 2.5 goals in the match at 2.15. Serbians are a very offensive team, while last game Chile played had five goals total.
