Senegal made only one appearance in the world cup .this was in 2002 tournament co-hosted by China and Japan.
Importantly, this maiden campaign included winning against the then world champions France in the group stage and Sweden in the Round of 16.
They became the first African team to reach the quarter-finals in the history of the world cup. Unfortunately, they were thrashed by Turkey with just one goal.
Senegal’s previous appearance at the world cup is a memorable one.
