Sassuolo vs Fiorentina
Italian Serie A.
Date: Saturday, 21 April 2018
Kick-Off: 17:00 UK/ 18:00 CET
Venue: MAPEI Stadium-Città del Tricolore (Reggio Emilia).
A string of decent results have helped Sassuolo pull away from the drop zone, and currently the Neroverdi find themselves in 13th spot. However, they are actually just six points away from 18th-placed Crotone, meaning that any kind of slip-up could see them dragged right back down.
The hosts still have a poor home record, but they’ve really improved as of late, notably holding Scudetto aspirants Napoli to a 1-1 draw. They come into this game having earned a narrow 1-0 win over relegation candidates Hellas Verona and now will be looking to cause Fiorentina some problems after the Viola’s topsy-turvy game against Lazio midweek.
It was an entertaining game for the neutrals, as seven goals were scored during that tie. However, Viola supporters will be bitterly disappointed with being on the wrong end of a 4-3 score-line, especially as they were 2-0 up. Jordan Veretout’s hat-trick wasn’t enough, either, as the Biancocelesti refused to back down and fought back to first equalize and then snatch all three points.
That result snapped a seven game unbeaten streak for Stefano Pioli’s side. Prior to that, the Viola had won six in a row, but ended up stumbling to a draw with a staunchly defensive SPAL, meaning that the Tuscan outfit have now failed to win their last two games.

Sassuolo vs Fiorentina: Predictions
Despite their uptick in form, Sassuolo are still the lowest-scoring side in the division. They’re not out of the woods just yet and will be desperate to take advantage of Fiorentina’s slight downward form, but the visitors are undefeated in their last seven games and obviously will present some tough opposition. That being said, Sassuolo did manage to hold Napoli to a draw at this ground and will definitely try the same approach to nick at least a point.
