Sassuolo vs Bologna: Prediction
Sassuolo fought back two times to earn a road point against spirited Lecce in the previous round. With three wins, one draw and six losses, Neroverdi are 15th in the Serie A standings, two points above relegation zone.
They have claimed four points from last five league outings and allowed twelve goals in the process. Sassuolo strikers are doing fine, though, only one has team managed to shut them down this season – Parma at Ennio Tardini.
Bourabia, Rogerio, Mazzitelli, Pegolo, Ferrari and Chiriches are on the injury list.
Bologna slipped to 13th position after 1-2 defeat at the hands of Inter Milan. The Veltri took the lead through Roberto Soriano, but Nerazzuri turned the game around with a late brace from Romelu Lukaku.
With the win-draw-loss record of 3-3-5, Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team will be eager to bounce back on Friday. Just like Sassuolo, Bologna have collected four points from last five games, and we have seen at least three goals in all of them.
Medel, Tomiyasu and Destro are on the sidelines.
The hosts have 2-0-3 record at home. They’re scoring 2.4 goals per bout in their own backyard, whilst conceding 2.20. All of their home games went over 2.5 goals and BTTS – Yes came in four times.
Bologna, 1-2-3 on the road, have an average of 1.33 goals scored per game on their travels, whilst conceding 1.67 per match. Both teams have scored in 67% of their games away from home.
Both sides were involved in high-scoring matches in last month and I’m positive we’ll see an action-packed game at MAPEI stadium on Friday.
Without centre-backs Ferrari and Chiriches, Sassuolo’s leaky rearguard will struggle to contain the guests and I can see them netting one or two here.
With Beradi and Boga projected to start (9 goals combined this season), I’m confident Neroverdi will find the back of the net as well.
