FK Sarajevo vs Zaria FC
2017/18 UEFA Europa League Qualification
Date: Thursday, 6th July 2017
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Asim Ferhatovic Hase Stadium.
The centre back Marko Mihojevic left Sarajevo in the tie by netting a goal 15 minutes from time to make it 2-1 for Zaria the final score.
The Bosnians will be massive favourites ahead of the second leg, but they will need to justify the tag on the court on Thursday when they will host the Moldovans in front of their fans at Asim Ferhatovic Hase Stadium.
The hosts came third at the end of the season in Bosnian Premier Liga last year. They have lost three of their key figures from the last season as the main creator Haris Duljevic, the midfielder Amer Bekic and the centre back Adnan Kovacevic left the team.
On the bright side for coach Mehmed Janjos, Krste Velkoski returned to Sarajevo, while the newly signed Amar Rahmanovic and Mico Kuzmanovic showed a great potential when they came on as substitutes in the second half of the first leg in Chisinau.
Zaria’s achieved their greatest success in history back in 2015/16 season when they won the Moldovan Cup.
The team reached the final last season as well when they suffered a demolishing 5-0 defeat to Sherif.
Sarajevo vs Zaria: Head to head
Sarajevo was the dominant side on the pitch in the first leg, but they just failed to produce in front of the opponent’s goal all up until the 75th minute and Marko Mihojevic’s header.
The Bosnians’ defensive line looked quite vulnerable as Zaria bagged two cheap goals through Sergiy Zagynaylov and Ruben Gomez in the first half.
Sarajevo vs Zaria: Prediction
The quality and the European competitions experience is certainly on Sarajevo’s side and we expect them to confirm it in the second leg and celebrate a convincing win in front of their fans.
