Sampdoria vs Torino Italian Serie A Predictions by LeagueLane

Sampdoria vs Torino
Italy – Serie A
Date: Sunday, 22 September 2019
Kick-off at 14:00 UK / 15:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris (Genoa).

Sampdoria are dead-last with zero points after three opening rounds. Most the of the teams from the bottom picked up a win last week, but Samp had a difficult game in Napoli.

Despite the 0-2 loss at Stadio San Paolo, manager Eusebio Di Francesco said that was their best performance of the season. He changed formation from 4-3-3 to 3-4-1-2 and it will be interesting to see Blucerchiati’s approach against Torino on Sunday. Maroni and Jankto will miss this tie.

The pressure of being strong favourites was too much for the Granata as they fell to 1-2 defeat at the hands of Lecce. They’ve beaten crafty Sassuolo side and pulled a fantastic comeback against Atalanta prior to that.

Walter Mazzari criticized his team’s effort against the Salentini, stating that aside from possession, they got nothing right. Torino are still without Ansaldi and Parigini.

Sampdoria vs Torino: Predicted Starting Lineups

Sampdoria vs Torino: Prediction

This has to be the trickiest Sunday game to predict.

I can’t imagine Sampdoria with four L’s next to their name, but at same time I don’t trust them enough to back them, not even in DNB market. Formation shift should help. Three at the back makes a lot of sense. It should tighten up their leaky defence that concedes an average of 3 goals per game, and 36-year old Quagliarella clearly needs a partner up-front.

I’ll bet on the veteran forward to get his 2nd goal on the season, but my main bet will be BTTS – Yes. The Granata scored four goals at this venue last season, and with in-form Belotti, they should net one or two.
