Russia vs San Marino
Date: Saturday, 8 June 2019
Kick-Off at 17:00 UK / 18:00 CET
Venue: Mordovia Arena (Saransk).
Russia began their qualifying campaign with a 3-1 loss at Belgium, but they have a great chance to make it three wins on the bounce after this month.
World Cup quarter-finalists rebounded from the mentioned loss with a demolishing 0-4 victory over Kazakhstan in the previous round.
Stanislav Sherchesov’s men are now eyeing at two easy straightforward affairs against San Marino and Cyprus on the home soil. The first of two games will be the easier one as it is about to see Russians playing host to one of the weakest teams on the continent.
San Marino lost 29 consecutive games in all competitions and they have scored just three goals along the way. La Serenissima fell 5-0 to Cyprus and 0-2 to Scotland at the start of the new qualifying campaign. They obviously have nothing to hope for coming face to face with Russia here in Saransk.
Russia vs San Marino: Head-to-head
This will only be the third head to head encounter between the two sides.
Russia claimed two wins so far with a goal difference of 11-0 along the way.
Russia vs San Marino: Prediction
San Marino finished their Nations League campaign at very foot of the Group 2 (League D) with a goal difference of 0-16 alongside the likes of Belarus, Luxembourg and Moldova.
The difference in quality between these two likes is just massive and we expect the hosts to finish the job in the first half of the contest and prepare for Tuesday’s match against Cyprus.
Russia to win by five or more goals difference is paid at 1.57, while you can also back three or more goals to be scored in the first half at the odds of 2.00.
Obviously, this will be a one-way street for the Russians and we would not be shocked to see them winning by six or more goals difference either.
