Russia vs Cyprus
Euro 2020 Qualification
Date: Tuesday 11th June 2019
Kick off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Nizhny Novgorod Stadium (Nizhny Novgorod).
Russia just beat San Marino 9-0 and whilst they were expected to win that was still a huge score and it will make the nation feel very confident coming into this game.
Russia are in Group I and are in 2nd place with Belgium the favourites to win the group, Russia must at least ensure they finish 2nd to qualify. Their only real threat appears to be from Scotland who have the same points as them on 6. This is an important game as Scotland will play Belgium on Tuesday if they lose as expected and Russia win this as expected that will pull 3 points clear of the Scots.
Artem Dzyuba is the real threat for Russia up front and he will be relishing playing again in front of the home fans on what could be a difficult night for Cyprus.
Cyprus are in 4th place and have lost their last two games. Their latest loss came away to Scotland when they went down 2-1 and they lost the game before that against Belgium in a quite respectable manner only going down 2-0.
Russia vs Cyprus: Head to Head
The teams have just one other match that they have played which was way back in 2003 when Russia won 1-0 away from home.
Russia vs Cyprus: Prediction
Russia have goals in them and we expect especially being at home that they will want to impress their fans and get on the right foot straight from the beginning.
This is why we are backing them to be winning at half time. We will also back Dzyuba to score anytime, he is a form player and scores goals when they matter and this game is an obvious stepping stone for the home side who can control their destiny more with a win on Tuesday.
Russia vs Cyprus: Bet Tips:
Half Time: Russia to be winning at 1.57 (4/7)
Anytime goalscorer: Artem Dzyuba (Russia) at 1.80 (4/5).
