Roma vs PSG
International Champions Cup
Date: Thursday, 20th July 2017
Kick-off at 1:00 am UK/ 2:00 CET
Venue: Comerica Park (Detroit).
The excitement of International Champions Cup continues as AS Roma take on PSG at the Comercia park in Detroit.
The pre-season is fresh for both teams with Roma taking part in just 2 friendlies prior to their training camp in the United States. They started off with the 8-0 thrashing of local club Pinzolo before edging a 1-0 win against much stronger team Slovacko from Czech Republic. While PSG’s lone outing ended with a 1-1 stalemate against the neighbors Paris FC.
The head-coach Eusebio Di Francesco will have majority of his key players available to tour the United States. Only Rick Karsdorp and Emerson Palmieri are missing from the squad due to injuries.
Meantime, PSG’s squad is depleted with a number of first team players absent due to various reasons. Julian Draxler is yet to join the squad with an extended holiday after firing Germany to Confederation Cup victory. While, Serge Aurier, Ben Arfa and Krychowiak are left behind, with all three players linked with a move away from the club.
The new signings Daniel Alves and Yuri Berchiche are part of the squad. And one notable addition is the Spanish striker Jese, who spend the second half of last season on loan at Las Palmas.
Roma vs PSG: Head-to-head
The only previous meeting between the sides happened in a friendly on 2010. The teams share the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
Roma vs PSG: Prediction
There will be plenty of rustiness to shake off with teams working their way into full match fitness. So, either sides will struggle to find their usual rythm. There will be plenty of goals in the defense and considering the team’s goal-scoring prowess, we are expected to see a high scoring game.
