Roma vs Napoli: Prediction
The Giallorossi moved to fourth position in the Serie A standings following a commanding 4-0 win over Udinese at Friuli. Despite having a man down since Fazio got an early red for a professional foul, Roma handled Zebrette with ease, scoring three goals in the second half. With five wins, four draws and one loss to their name, they’re one point above Lazio, Napoli and Cagliari.
Unbeaten in five games, Roma are set to be without six players – Pellegrini, Diawara, Kalinic, Zappacosta and Cristante are out injured, Fazio is suspended, Under is back and Mkhitaryan is questionable.
Napoli played out an exciting 2-2 draw against fellow-contenders Atalanta on Wednesday. The resilient Bergamese side came back from behind two times to secure a point at Stadio San Paolo. With five wins, three draws and two losses, Carlo Ancelotti’s team are currently sixth in the standings, eight points off of top spot. They will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend when they take a trip to Italy’s capital.
Manolas should be back in the starting XI, but Hysaj, Ghoulam and Malcuit are all out.
Roma have an average of 2.9 goals on their games this season. At home, where they have win-draw-lose record of 2-2-1, Paulo Fonseca’s men are scoring two goals per game, whilst conceding similar numbers – 1.80. Four of five games at Olimpico this season had BTTS – Yes and three of five over 2.5 goals.
The Azzurri, 2-2-1 on the road, have an average of 2.40 goals scored per bout, whilst conceding the Roma numbers – 1.80. Both teams have scored in four of their five games away from home. Arkadiusz Milik will are projected to start in 4-4-2 formation alongside Mertens. The Polish International has bagged four goals in last four games for the club.
Both teams are averaging big numbers and I’m confident we will see an interesting game at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.
Even though Roma are still without several important players, I will refrain from picking a winner and focus on goals. I’m confident both teams will find the back of the net and we should see at least three goals here.
