Roma vs Juventus – LeagueLane® Analysis
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 13 May 2018
Kick-Off: 19:45 UK,
Venue: Stadio Olimpico (Rome).
Juventus have clinched the Coppa Italia after crushing AC Milan midweek and now they turn to completing the domestic double as they travel to face Roma. It’s been a successful week so far for Massimiliano Allegri, and they’re halfway there to getting things done. Can they take care of business against the Giallorossi, who have also had a very successful campaign?
It’s been an entertaining Scudetto race, and one that has kept Calcio fans entertained all season. Unlike the other “Big 5” leagues, Serie A is the only one that has yet to be fully decided, although Napoli’s recent results have basically handed the league title to Juventus once again. Unless if the Bianconeri lose their next two games by an awful margin – and that includes a horror show against already relegated Hellas Verona, Juve will be celebrating a seventh straight Scudetto at the end of this campaign.
It will be a deserved effort, after competing in three competitions all season. They couldn’t make inroads in the Champions League like Roma did, but that was thanks to a rather dubious refereeing decision that went Real Madrid’s way, thus rendering their excellent second-leg performance null and void.
Roma, meanwhile were simply outstanding in the Champions League. Much to most people’s surprise, they deservedly knocked out heavy favorites Barcelona, silencing the over-confident Catalan press in the process, and put on a good show against Liverpool, providing entertainment for fans and neutrals alike. Although they weren’t able to overcome Jurgen Klopp’s brilliant side, it was only by the slimmest of margins, and with their huge share of the prize pool, Eusebio Di Francesco’s side can certainly invest well this summer.
Finishing third, then, will be vital as Roma look to make a return to Europe’s elite competition next year.

Roma vs Juventus: Prediction
Juventus need a point to secure the title, and they could get just that on Sunday. Roma, meanwhile, are just looking to secure a top four spot, and they’ve pretty much already guaranteed that, so one could certainly see both teams very happy with just a draw. As for goals, both teams certainly have no problems scoring – as we saw Roma doing so in the Champions League, whilst Juve put four past Milan with ease. In Serie A, Juve have only managed one clean sheet in their last seven league games and have conceded in their last three goals. Expect both teams to score – especially as Roma have netted in their last five games.
