Roma vs Hellas Verona
2017/18 Italian Serie A.
Date: Saturday, 16 September 2017
Kick-Off: 19:45 UK,
Venue: Stadio Olimpico (Rome).
After seeing their last match called off prematurely due to bad weather and struggling to make inroads against Atletico Madrid, Roma will hope to get up and running as they host floundering Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening.
The Giallorossi have a match in hand as their game with Sampdoria was cancelled last weekend, and so came into their Champions League group stage tie with Atletico Madrid more well rested than Diego Simeone’s side. However, they were unable to make that advantage count.
Well, they have a good chance to earn a very comfortable three points on Saturday. Hellas Verona were crushed 5-0 by Fiorentina and certainly won’t pose much of a challenge for Roma, as they have shipped a whopping eight goals in just their first three games. They’re expected to concede a few more on Saturday, especially as Verona lost 3-1 in their opener and Roma have been quite strong on home turf.
Although the Lupi did ship three against Inter at the Stadio Olimpico on matchday two, Verona are obviously nowhere near the skill level of the Nerazzurri and barring a surprise collapse, there’s no reason why Eusebio Di Francesco’s side shouldn’t be able to pick up all three points here.

Roma vs Hellas Verona: Prediction
Roma have had a stop-start beginning to the season under Di Francesco and this match has arrived at the right time. They’ve failed to win back-to-back home games, losing first to Inter and then drawing with Atletico, so this game with a struggling Verona is exactly what they need ahead of another easy fixture with Serie A debutants Benevento. Roma have beaten every single side in the bottom half of the table at home last season and there’s no reason they should fail to do likewise on Saturday.
