Roma vs Brescia: Prediction
The Giallorossi six-game unbeaten run ended abruptly as they fell to a 0-2 defeat at Stadio Ennio Tardini. Roma enjoyed more than 60% of the ball possession but failed to make it count and their defence completely fell apart as they allowed Parma to generate mind-boggling 12 goal-scoring chances.
Due to injury crisis, Paulo Fonseca was unable to rotate his team and tiredness surely played a role. Currently 6th, tied with Atalanta on points, Roma will be looking to bounce back on Sunday.
Cristante, Kalinic and Zappacosta are on the treatment table, Mancini is questionable while Pellegrini and Mkhitaryan are back in training and should make the bench.
Brescia dropped to last position on the ladder following an embarrassing 0-4 home defeat to Torino on Fabio Grosso’s debut. Everything went wrong for the Rondinelle in that one – two penalties in the first half and a second yellow card for the left back, Ales Mateju, just before the break. They have claimed just one points from last seven league games and lost four matches on the trot.
Dessena and Tremolada will be out for two months, Mateju is suspended and Chancellor is questionable for the guests.
Roma, 3-2-1 at Olimpico so far, have an average of two goals scored per game, whilst conceding 1.67 per tie. The Rondinelle picked up most of their points away from home. They are scoring 0.63 goals per game on their travels and shipping 1.33 per tie.
The visitors are in a mess right now. They have conceded two goals or more in each of their last four Serie A outings and I can’t see them pulling an upset in Rome, but I won’t be surprised if they find the back of the net as they’ve bagged a goal in five of their six games on the road.
Paulo Fonseca’s side should control the tempo of the game from start to finish and I can see them winning this tie with ease. At least 5-6 players are well rested now, and two very important pieces are back in the mix.
Nicolo Zaniolo has netted six goals in last eight games for Roma and the Italian National team. I’ll back him to score anytime.
