Rennes vs Reims
France – Ligue 1
Date: Sunday, 6th October 2019
Kick off at 16:00 UK/ 17:00 CET
Venue: Roazhon Park.
In some ways you could claim that Rennes have started the season well as they are in 8th place and have lost 2 games. However, the problem is the amount of draws they have been chalking up, to the point that it is affecting their points.
Rennes have drawn 3 of their last 4 games and have not won a game since August. Their last match finished 1-1 away to Marseille and their last home game was a draw to Lille. At home Rennes have one of the worst records and would be 17th based on that. They have won just once at Roazhon Park.
Reims are a headache for anyone supporting them. They go and beat the champions PSG in Paris 2-0 and then the following week they lose at home 2-1 to the bottom club Dijon, it would be hard to make up. They are in 9th place and would go above Rennes with a win and possibly shoot into the top 7 clubs.
On the road Reims have won 2 and lost 2, and there just isn’t much consistency with the team which summed up last season and looks like it will this one too.

There hasn’t been a 0-0 between the two teams in over 20 years.
Rennes vs Reims: Prediction
We will back Reims to get the win. What we have noticed in this season is we have a team who go onto another level when they are playing another team deemed their equal or better and they are on the road.
Reims just seem to be happier playing away now and they were rightly booed off their pitch in their last game. Rennes will have to be aware of Reims threat, although we have no idea what mindset the away team will be in, so it is best to keep this at minimum stakes.
We will also back the correct score, in what could be a very close game of football.
