Rennes vs Nice
Date: 17th September 2017
Kick off at 16:00 UK/ 17:00 CET
Venue: Roazhon Park
Game Week 6 of French Ligue 1 brings us a duel between Rennes and Nice at Roazhon Park.
The 5th round of French Ligue 1 brought Rennes their first win for the season. After two draws and two losses, they finally managed to earn three points, in a match away against Olympique Marseille. They had been underrated, but nevertheless won with a score of 1-3. Khazri, Bourigeaud, and Gnagnon scored the three goals for Rennes. With 5 points, they are now sitting at the 14th place in the league table. In 4 of their 5 matches so far, there were three or more goals in total, and they never failed to score.
They got off to a not-so-great start of the season. They have three losses and two clean-sheets wins. Most recently, they hosted Monaco and won with a score of 4-0. Balotelli scored two goals (one of them as penalty), and Plea, their top scorer, and Ganago scored one respectively.
They are coming from a quite convincing victory in the opening game of the group stage of UEL. They visited Zulte-Waregem and won with a score of 1-5.
Rennes vs Nice: Head to head
They are pretty much tied when it comes to their head to head encounters (38 in total). Rennes have 15 wins, Nice 12, and 11 times their duels ended with a draw. During the previous season, their duel at Roazhon Park ended with a 2-2 draw.
Rennes vs Nice: Prediction
We already mentioned that Nice started the season rather bad. They are not considered to be the favourites in this fixture, but we nevertheless believe they won’t end up defeated. Perhaps they were focusing on the Europe League, and neglected their domestic campaign. After the opening win in UEL, we think they can at least draw in this encounter. Also, based on everything above, goals on both sides of the pitch are to be expected.
