Real Madrid vs Liverpool
UEFA Champions League
Date: Tuesday, 6 April 2021
Kick-off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium.
In a repeat of the 2018-19 Champions League Final, these two will lock horns in this Quarter Final tie. And despite just three years having been passed since that game, several things have changes for both squads.
The Reds since then went on to lift the CL, and even put an end to their three-decade long wait for an EPL trophy.
Meanwhile, from having the squad with the best depth in Europe, the Los Blancos went on to become a team fighting to stay at least in the third spot in the Spanish top flight. Most importantly, they lost the services of their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
On top of that, now they will have to make do without the presence of Sergio Ramos, who’s been sidelined for a month due to injury.
Those who had seen the 2018-19 Final will remember that it was Ramos who had played the pivotal role in the Royal Whites securing the title.
In a widely criticized tackle, the Spanish defender managed to injure Mohammed Salah – on whom Jurgen Klopp had pinned his hopes.
That defeat had been burning in the back of the minds of the Reds, and now they have the opportunity to settle scores. As things stand, Liverpool have the upper hand.

- Three of the past four encounters had three or more goals.
- The latest clash at home for the Los Blancos had ended in a 1-0 win for them.
Real Madrid vs Liverpool Prediction
The Royal Whites recorded a 4-1 aggregate win against Atalanta in the Round of 16. In the meantime, Klopp’s men registered a 4-0 win against Leipzig.
Going on, the Reds are desperate. They seem on course to finish out of the top-four in EPL, and may be winning the CL might be the only way to save face in front of fans for them.
The one thing they have got going is the fact that – despite all of their problems in other competitions, they have done well in CL lately. On top of that, the injury to Ramos will be a major boost for them.
In recent years, Zidane’s men have shown the tendency to implode without their inspirational captain in the backlines. Moreover, the current EPL champions will be eager to settle scores with 13-time European kings.
By the looks of things, expect Liverpool to have the edge this Tuesday.
