James Rodriguez future at Real Madrid is subjected to lot of speculations in recent months linking him towards a move away from La Liga club at the end of this season.
The first of which cited due to his bad relationship with former coach Rafa Benitez, which is now followed by doubts if he may not be favored by new coach and Zinedine Zidane as well.
But there are apparent reasons why the player is not getting enough time on the field as expected. He is not in the right physical shape after gaining some extra weight. It has been reported that his body fat index is as high as 13% at the moment, when it should be at 7%.
The physical aspect is one thing, but the Los Blancos management is also keeping tabs on his attitude after the racing car incident and regular visits to night clubs.
The management feels that the attitude of James Rodriguez is not appropriate for a player of his level and for a club like Real Madrid.
James started off the bench in two matches since Zinedine Zidane replaced Rafa Benitez and his behavior in the sidelines during Real’s 5-1 win against Sporting Gijon has angered the French boss.
James sat on the bench when was supposed to be warming up in the second half of the match, which prompted Zidane into an exchange of words with player who seem unwilling to follow the instructions.
The play-maker will get his opportunity with both Bale and Benzema currently out with injuries and he must consider this his one chance to win back the confidence of the coach.
At the moment, he is certainly behind Isco in the pecking order and if his performance on the pitch doesn’t change in recent weeks, he may be forced to spend ample time in the dugout for the rest of the season.
An injury suffered earlier this season may be seen as a reason for his slow start, but he has done too little so far to show that he deserves a spot in the starting lineup.
Real Madrid hierarchy are extremely concerned by his performance this season. They still believe James Rodriguez has immense quality and want the player to improve in both sporting and personal aspect.
With the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United interested in the player’s service, we may well see him pack his bags at the end of the season if his attitude remains the same at Santiago Bernebeu.
