Reading vs Cardiff
England – FA Cup
Date: Saturday, 25 January 2020
Kick-off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET
Venue: Madejski Stadium (Reading).
Both teams have been on fine form the last several match-days, and to be frank, the only thing that differentiates between the squads this weekend would be the home advantage. Likely, while the result could favor Reading at the end, goals are expected from both teams.

Reading vs Cardiff Prediction
Reading were on the road in the previous round of the competition, and they had taken on Blackpool. Despite being slowed down with the away handicap, the former managed to deliver a 0-2 win.
Meanwhile, after the 2-2 draw at home, Cardiff had to replay Carlisle. This one too proved to be a goal-fest, and in fact Cardiff had to record a 3-4 victory on the road to progress to this fourth round.
As mentioned earlier, both teams are on level terms. They are both strong presences in the Championship, and are separated by just three points in the table.
In addition, when it’s mentioned that the lower-placed Reading have a game in hand, it becomes further clear that the teams are considered to be equals in strength.
Moreover, Reading were unbeaten in nine of their last ten overall games, and are on a streak of four invincible games at home. They had also remained unbeaten in seven of their former nine home fixtures.
On the other hand, Cardiff were invincible in 12 of their previous 14 match-ups, and were so in ten of their former fourteen on the road.
Furthermore, Reading had scored two or more goals in four of their last six overall fixtures, and in five of their previous eight at home as well.
Also, Cardiff had scored a total of six goals from their previous two FA Cup fixtures, and had scored twice or more in seven of their last twelve matches on the road.
Finally, 19 of the previous 29 overall h2h clashes, and 11 of the former 14 at this venue have had goals from both teams.
Taking into account these observations, it’s concluded that the BTTS hold a very high potential this Saturday.
In terms of result though, the home advantage could make a difference. In fact, only twice have Reading lost at home since the first week of October, and one of those losses had come against arguably the best team in the Championship, Leeds.
Moreover, Cardiff may have stood unbeaten in majority of their road trips this sesaon, but an alarming number of those were draws.
If we take the number of wins, the team were able to secure a total of just three wins away from home, and one of those was even against a team from the lower division.
In addition, Reading are unbeaten against this opponent in the last five years, and have scored two or more goals in three of the last four clashes. And at this venue, the last Cardiff won was back in 2011, and in total, since 2001, only twice have they won here.
Furthermore, only twice have Reding failed to score in front of the home crowd against this opponent since 2000, and they even won the latest such encounter with a scoreline of 3-0.
Considering all these pointers, it’s evident that it’s very unlikely that Reading would experience a loss this Saturday.
