Leicester city manager Claudio Ranieri says inform striker Jamie Vardy can break Ruud van Nistelrooy’s long standing record irrespective of how strong an opponent’s defensive line up is.
Vardy who is 28-years old has netted in10 consecutive outings and is on the verge of breaking former man United and Netherlands forward Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s 10 consistent goal scoring record if he scores in his 11th league match.
Van Nistelrooy’s 10 straight has stood for 12 years and and coincidentally J. Vardy needs to score in Leicester’s Saturday game against Van Nistelrooy’s former club to break the record.
Man United can boast of a formidable defensive set up in the league this season but Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri believes his forward is on good road to break the record.
“He is ready to break it. If Jamie breaks the record he will break the record.
It’s not important how strong the defensive line is.
“Sometimes when you are in a hurry everything comes very easily.
When you are on the right road everything comes to you.” Ranieri said.
The foxes will host Man United on Saturday 27 November 2015.
At the same time, experienced sports pundit Richard Keys believes that it is a matter of when not if Vardy leaves. His discussion with Tip Tv Sport’s Jamie Banks can be found below, where he discuss the rise of Leicester City to the top of the Premier League and whether star-player Jamie Vardy will be at the club next season.
Richard Key also says that he is surprised that the season has went so well for Foxes under Claudio Ranieri as he said during pre-season that the Italian head-coach will be the first to get sacked in the current season.
The Saturday’s meeting also constitute a surprise top of the table battle as Leicester has managed to beat all odds to make become the leaders at the expense of some poor showing by the elite English Premier League clubs.
