Ranheim vs Valerenga
Norway – Eliteserien
Date: Saturday, 28 April 2018
Kick-Off at 17:00 UK
Venue: EXTRA Arena (Ranheim).
Ranheim well confounded their pre-season expectations in the opening six rounds of football in the higher division. The newly-promoted side took four wins in six initial matches and they sit at the sky-high third place ahead of Saturday’s home fixture with Valerenga.
The visitors opened the campaign in a somewhat slower fashion, but they managed to show the spirits coming back from consecutive tough losses to Sarpsborg 08 and Stromsgodset. Enga destroyed Start 1-6 on the road before holding last years’ runners-up Molde to a goalless draw last weekend at Intility Arena.
Can Ronny Delia’s men back up the fine spell of form against the in-from newcomers? The key will lie in keeping things tight at the back and Mads Reginiussen who notched three goals in six games for Ranheim so far in the campaign.
Ranheim vs Valerenga: Head-to-head
This will be the first ever head to head encounter between Ranheim and Valerenga, following the hposts’ maiden promotion to the elite class.
Ranheim vs Valerenga: Prediction
Ranheim bagged as many as four goals in each of two opening matches in front of the home crowd, but they failed to back up such displays in mid-week’s clash with Brann (0-2 loss). Svein Maalen has reasons to be worried about his side’s defensive form given that Ranheim shipped five in last three home matches.
With Valerenga netting as many as six on their previous travel, we could try with the visitors to score two or more goals in the match at the 1.83 odds. The away win is paid at 2.00, but we’ll be careful with the stakes here since Enga were anything but consistent in the initial six games of the season. The BTTS looks like a nice option at 1.61 since the hosts bagged eight in two home matches before the mentioned defeat to Brann on Wednesday.
