Rangers vs Kilmarnock: Prediction
Steven Gerrard’s side have the chance to close the gap on Premiership leaders Celtic when they take on an out-of-sorts and managerless Kilmarnock. The Gers are in stellar form having won seven of their last eight league outings and they come into this match on the back of a 3-0 road win over Hibernian.
With the win-draw-loss record of 14-2-1 and an impressive goal difference of +40, Rangers are second on the ladder, five points off of the top spot, albeit with a game in hand.
Rangers have logged six wins and one defeat at Ibrox this season, netting 3.71 goals pr game, whilst conceding 0.71 per bout. They’ve won their last five home fixtures, scoring 20 goals in the process.
Fifth-placed Killie are struggling ever since Steve Clarke left them in the summer. They crashed out of Europa League against Welsh side, Connah’s Quay Nomads, and failed to repeat last season’s results in the Premiership.
After two defeats in a row vs Livingston (0-3) and Ross County (0-1), the Board decided to sack Italian coach Angelo Alessio and install Alex Dyer as an interim manager. Under Dyer, Kilie fell a 0-1 home defeat to Motherwell on Saturday.
The visiting side have recorded two wins, one draw and six losses away from Rugby Park, averaging 0.67 goals per match and shipping 1.78 in return. Kilmarnock have lost four of their last five away games.
The hosts are in great shape, superior on every level and scoring for fun at Ibrox. Anything but a convincing home win would be a surprise. I’m willing to back them in -2 Asian Handicap.
Matches on Boxing Day are usually fun to watch and with a 4-1 hunch, I’m hitting goals market. Odds for Over 3 (Asian Total) are quite nice. Good luck!
