QPR vs Sheffield Wednesday
Date: Monday, 17th April 2017
Kick off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET
Venue: Loftus Road.
QPR takes on Sheffield Wednesday in yet another Monday Championship game. QPR are losing ground in recent games while Sheffield are desperately trying to hold to their 6th place.
The Rangers are running downhill last few games. The team still sits on 17th place with 50 points 7 above relegation but their form looks terrible. Suffering 4 defeats in a row as not easy for any team. Bristol City, Brighton, Aston Villa and Derby County all took the points when facing QPR. Interesting to not here is that QPR lost each game with just one goal difference. Before losing to Brighton QPR had won 4 games in a row at Loftus Road. Still overall their home record is poor and the team may look into it for the next season.
Sheffield Wednesday are currently holding on to 6th place but with a just 2-point gap over Fulham. Wednesday is undefeated in 4 games winning the last 3. The team had a brief spell on 7th place after a few games drop of form but now is looking more confident. Away from home their record is far from perfect with 28 points from 21 games. That’s 8 points less compared to their opponents for 6th Fulham. Going against QPR may be the perfect opportunity to improve a bit on that.
QPR vs Sheffield Wednesday: Head to head
- Sheffield has slight advantage over QPR in head to head games. The Owls have won 4, drawn 3 and lost 3 to their current opponents.
- At home QPR has 2 victories and 2 draws.
- Last game was a minimal win for the Wednesday.
QPR vs Sheffield Wednesday: Prediction
QPR are in a slump of form. Sheffield W are also not the best hosts and tend to struggle finding the net. Still the away team should be motivated enough to try and take the points to keep their place in top 6.
This should be a bit of a nervy game with Sheffield trying to break WPR defensive line while the hosts trying to limit their chances. Therefore, a pick for a half time draw looks promising.
