Qatar vs Oman Prediction
The hosts have got off to a solid start in their campaign and have garnered seven points from a possible nine. Although they dropped points in their last clash at home against India, Qatar made sure that the spoils went their way in their most recent trip on the road.
Felix Sanchez Bas’s men slotted two unanswered goals past Bangladesh in that latter matchup and will be welcoming Oman this week on the back of that positive result.
On the other hand, the visitors are on an impressive winning streak of their own, and have not tasted defeat in any of their last five games, friendlies included. The away side have also been recording back to back victories in their previous two group fixtures, the last of which was a very convincing 3-0 victory over Afghanistan.
However, it needs saying that Oman have not been a confident bunch away from home. They have come out on top just once in their last three outings, that too in all competitions. Furthermore, the visitors have not been faring well in their previous visits to Qatar either, and have not picked up the win in any of their last seven trips here.
Taking into account that the hosts managed not more than a draw in their last matchup at home, the safest punt in this one is a double chance favoring Qatar.
Additionally, the home team have been keen on adding to their goal-scoring charts and have netted eight goals so far, which is also the most by any team in the cluster. Considering that five of those eight have come in the opening forty-five minutes of the game, expect Qatar to go searching for an early goal and to find it before the break.
