PSG vs Leicester City:
International Champions Cup,
Date: Sunday, 31-August-2016

Venue: StubHub Centre (Los Angeles).

The reigning English Premier League Champions Leicester City takes on French Champions Paris Saint Germain in the 2016 edition of the International Champion Cup in Los Angeles.

Paris Saint-Germain started the tournament with a bang defeating Inter Milan in their opening match of the tournament at Oregon. They didn’t took the foot off the pedal since then and followed it by a 3-1 thumping of Champions League winners Real Madrid.

Unai Emery’s men showed excellent combative spirit through the two matches they played and are currently leading the table with 6 points. They should clinch the North American edition of the tournament if they win against Leicester on Sunday.

Leicester City on the other hand defeated Celtic Glasgow on penalties in the opening match of the tournament. The Foxes are undefeated in this pre-season with wins against local sides Nuneaton Town and Oxford United under their belt.

This is the first real test for the team and Claudio Ranieri will be able to assess his squad before the league season kicks-off on August 13. Leicester’s next match in the ICC tournament is against the Spanish Champions FC Barcelona at Solna, Sweden.

However, Thiago Silva who limped off in the first half of the 3-1 win against Real Madrid is a major doubt with injury.

The new signings Hatem Ben Arfa and Thomas Meunier have impressed over the two friendlies and are expected to start here.

PSG vs Leicester City: Head-to-Head Stats

The teams are meeting for the first time in a football field. PSG has already tested their metal against an English Premier League side in West Bromwich Albion, which they won by 2-1.

PSG vs Leicester City: Prediction

PSG looked in good tough in the first two matches of the tournament and will go into this game as favorites. While Leicester City struggled to get past Celtic in their opening game and the absence of Jamie Vardy will be a bitter blow to their chances against a club of PSG’s stature.

We can expect this one to be an entertaining contest and there will be goals at either ends. So back over 2.5 goals in this match and I will be backing PSG to edge this by 2-1.

PSG vs Leicester City: Tips

  1. PSG to win.
  2. Over 2.5 goals.
