PSG to start Cristiano Ronaldo transfer negotiation

It is no secret that PSG are strong admirers of Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo, and now they are finally set to start crunch talks with the Los Blancos to reach a final agreement over the transfer fee of the Portuguese starlet.

There has been a lot of speculations in the recent weeks regarding the future of Ronaldo and it all seems like he could finally exit Real Madrid next summer and the club PSG have finally made their move.

According to the Spanish publication ‘Fichajes, net’, the French will have to Real Madrid’s asking price of 120 million euros, which is lowered from the reported initial price of €150m.

At Santiago Bernebeu is keen to sell Ronaldo at the end of the current season, but he is far than reluctant to see him go at any price. The president still aware of the quality he can bring as a player and the huge marketing potential he carries and is determined to make the most out of the situation.

It has been also reported that Florentino Perez wants to bring two new ‘Galactic signings’ next season and the sale of Ronaldo will yield sufficient funds to meet their new transfer targets.

The relationship with Gareth Bale is another reason that aided the decision. Ronaldo, who will turn 31 in February earns €21m in wages and is under contract until the end of 2017/18 season.

As things stand, for a club with like PSG it won’t be hard to meet the wage demands of Ronaldo, but the real problem lies in the €120m price tag set by the Los Blancos.

PSG are unwilling to pay anything more than €100m, but Real Madrid won’t negotiate an amount less than what they had already set.

There are already many questions being raised on Cristiano Ronaldo’s performances in the recent weeks. Even though he has scored heavily at the start of the season, his performances has taken a steep decline.

He was a mere spectator on the pitch in both legs of the Champions League tie between PSG and Real Madrid. He has scored a total of 8 goals this season in La Liga and 5 of those had come in a single match against Espanyol in the match-day 3.

A lot of new developments is expected in the coming few weeks and besides PSG, Manchester United may also make an entry into the fray. But it remained to be seen, if the Red Devils opt the likes of Muller instead.
