The Seagulls had shown great resilience the last season in battling with some of the best teams in the world. Especially in the second half of their campaign, they had shown great clutch performances.
This experience in the top flight will be a great plus for the squad going forward in the EFL Cup – particularly against teams from the lower divisions. And the Lilywhites are one such team.
They had finished a paltry ninth in the Championship in 2019-20, and are searching for their first victory in the current season.
On top of that, their form at present is quite worrisome. And against Graham Potter’s men, who seem to be firing on all cylinders, the Lilywhites do not stand much chance.
As such, expect a dominating performance from Brighton this Wednesday.

At home, they had lost eight of their last fifteen appearances, and had not scored goals in their previous two games here.
On the other hand, their counterparts were unbeaten in seven of their preceding eight overall match-ups, and this sole loss had come against Chelsea – one of the best teams in the PL.
Going on, Potter’s men had also recorded a combined scorecard of 7-0 from their preceding two fixtures, and it’s been eight months since they had lost a game on the road.
Suffice it to say that the Seagulls are the squad in form, while their opposite number are struggling at present.
However, the most important reason for determining the outcome of the fixture would be the fact that Potter’s men are from the EPL – arguably the best league in the world, while their counterparts are from the lower division.
For these reasons, expect Brighton to have the upper hand this Wednesday. They are supposed to win, but to be on the safe side, we will opt for a comparatively safer Double Chance on the Seagulls.
