Porto vs Moreirense Portuguese Primeira Liga Match Preview 20th August 2017

Porto vs Moreirense
Portugal – Primeira Liga
Date: Sunday, 20th August 2017
Kick off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Estadio Do Dragao.

Porto have been super impressive in the season opener when they bagged as many as four goals past Estoril, but the second match of the season saw them getting only a narrow 0-1 victory over Tondela.

Can they make the third consecutive clean sheet and win this Sunday when they host Moreirense at Estadio do Dragao?

Porto

This summer’s acquisition from Vitoria Guimaraes, Moussa Marega, produced a fantastic display by netting a brace in the opening win over Estoril.

His fellow striker Vincent Aboubakar was not on target on the opening day, but he made all the difference in the second round when he bagged the match-winner at Tondela on Sunday evening.

Moreirense

The visitors, who have barely saved the elite class status last year, can be thrilled with their form at the start of the new season.

Manuel Machado’s side is undefeated in last seven matches (including pre-season friendlies) and they allowed no more than two goals during the process.

Porto vs Moreirense: Head to head

Porto won 11 of 16 head to head meetings with Moreirense, but it is interesting to note that Azuis e Brancos left Moreira de Conegos defeated in each of their last two away fixtures with Moreirense.

The story has been completely opposite at Dragao where Porto won each of seven head to head meetings with Moreirense with the total goal difference of 14-3.

Porto vs Moreirense: Prediction

We honestly doubt that Moreirense will be in chance to deliver the goods in the final third at Dragao which is why Porto to win to nil appears to be the best of the betting calls.

As for the strikers, the value is clearly with Sergio Conceicao’s number one option up front, Vincent Aboubakar, who is 5/6 to find the net against Moreirense.
