Porto vs Braga
Portugal – Taca de Portugal
Date: Tuesday, 26 February 2019
Kick-Off at 20:15 UK
Venue: Estadio Do Dragao (Porto).
In the semi-finals battle for the Taca de Portugal trophy, Porto are going to host Braga on Tuesday evening in the first-leg match.
After two straight draws in the Primeira Liga which let Benfica getting back in the title race, the hosts managed to bounce back with two wins in a row. They are four points ahead of their fierce rivals and Sergio Conceicao’s side stabilized their game and defence as they managed to keep the clean sheet in those two victories.
Porto have been pretty confident in the front, while their defence has been rock-solid in the top flight. Home side suffered just one defeat in front of their fans and they managed to celebrate in all other ten matches.
After two straight defeats in Portuguese top flight, Braga lost the pace in the title battle. They are sitting on the 3rd spot being eight points behind their opponents and the visitors are searching for the wat back to the winning track.
They have been pretty decent in the back, while Dyego Sousa and the lads are producing enough goals. Braga are doing well when playing away from home and they managed to snatch five victories at away grounds.
Porto vs Braga: Head-to-head
Porto have been much more successful in their head to head clashes lately as they haven’t lost to Braga five times in a row.
The hosts are enjoying a streak of three straight wins over their rivals and they want to keep up in the same fashion.
Their clashes have usually been low-scoring ones and the crowd was able to see more than two goals just once in the last five occasions.
Porto vs Braga: Prediction
Home side is in better momentum and they should be considered as the favourites in this match. Porto want to challenge the double this season and we believe they are going to secure the advantage in the first-leg clash.
Both teams are doing a very good job in the back and their defences are not so easy to crack. Since their head to head clashes have been fairly inefficient lately, we are expecting another close match which should remain under 2.5 margin.
