Venue: Stadion Nadorowy.

Poland made a major step towards the first position and direct qualification to 2018 World Cup in Russia with an away win over Montenegro in the fifth round.

The victory launched Eagles six points off Denmark and Montenegro at the top of the group E standings. Poland have a nice chance to seal the deal this Saturday when they host Romania at Stadion Narodowy.

The team led by Adam Nawalka was off to a rough start to the campaign as they only drew 2-2 with Kazakhstan in the opener.

However, the Eagles managed to come back with an impressive run of four straight victories over the likes of Denmark, Armenia, Romania and Montenegro.

Robert Lewandowski has been brutal netting as many as eight goals in five matches in this qualifying term. Lewa finished the season with Bayern Munich in a strong fashion as well bagging a brace in each of the away wins over Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig.

Christoph Daum, unfortunately, does not have such a predator in the final third in his team.

As the matter of fact, the German expert has been struggling a lot with his side’s efficiency up front as Romania failed to deliver in each of the last four matches.

The Tricolours will try and catch a break in Warsaw, but it will be everything but an easy task considering their poor attacking shape in the last couple of matches.

Poland vs Romania: Head to head

Romania completely dominated this match-up all up until this WC Qualifications term since the Eagles took a demolishing 0-3 win at Arena Nationala in Bucharest.

Kamil Grosicki opened the scoring, while Lewa added a brace to set the final score and secure the first win for the Poles over Romania.

Poland vs Romania: Prediction

Lewandowski is paid at 4/6 to score anytime which is a must take pick considering his impressive form so far in qualifications.

Poland are also massive favourites to clinch the victory and we’ll be shocked to see any other scenario but a comprehensive win for the hosts.
