Petr Cech believes that Arsenal have moved one step back after their disappointing 3-2 loss to youthful Man United at Traffrod on Sunday.
Ander Herrera’s goal and brace from Marcus Rasford were enough to put Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil goals in vain as United cruise to a comfortable win at Old Trafford.
Depleted Man United side who have 13 senior players missing, fielded a youthful team which did not hesitate to punish Arsenal 3-2.
And Petr Cech said the loss to United has pulled them back the confidence gained following their win against Leicester City. But he believes this Arsenal side can bounce back soon.
“This was a big disappointment for us and is a step back after last week where we managed to overcome a deficit against Leicester at home.
“This is a step back but we need to keep working. We have two important games coming up this week and if we manage to win both the table might look better again.”
The loss has put them on third position with 51 points, five points adrift of league leaders Leicester City and Arsenal have Swansea City to come up against at Emirates on Wednesday.
The win made United to maintain their Premier League unbeaten home run in nine games with seven wins and two draws (W7 L0 D2).
Man United are lying fifth position with 44 points, three points short of fourth placed Man City-who has one out-standing game at hand.
United will host Watford on Wednesday to push for their Champions League qualification.
