Pescara vs Torino
2016/17 Italian Serie A.
Date: Wednesday, 21 September 2016
Kick-Off: 19:45 UK,
Venue: Stadio Adriatico-Giovanni Cornacchia (Pescara).
Two floundering sides will try to outmaneuver each other as they lock horns in Pescara on Wednesday.
Pescara and Torino currently sit jointly on four points. However, the Delfini are still seeking their first “real” win of the season as they hope to make their stay in the top flight last more than one term. So far, Massimo Oddo’s side started off decently, with an impressive 2-2 draw against Napoli. However, they technically should have one point after losing to Sassuolo, but were all three points in a customary 3-0 win after the Neroverdi fielded an ineligible player.
Unfortunately, that bit of good fortune has not translated into better results for the side, who come into this game having lost back-to-back fixtures. Their most recent defeat was a crushing 3-0 result to Lazio, and they will be welcoming a side looking to heap more misery upon them to improve their own flagging fortunes.
Torino showed signs of promise with a 5-1 drubbing of Bologna, but since then have picked up just one point from their last two games. Joe Hart, however, managed to keep a clean sheet against Empoli, but the English shot-stopper had a pretty routine day at the office as his defense were more than prepared to handle the few threats posed by the Azzurri.
Injuries have not been kind to the Granata, who are shorn of several offensive options up front. Nonetheless, that has not prevented Sinisa Mihajlovic from criticizing veteran striker Maxi Lopez, who reportedly is set to be fined within the next two months if he cannot lose some weight. In any case, he’s out injured as well, leaving Torino’s new coach with some more reshuffling to do up front until everyone is off the treatment table.

Pescara vs Torino: Prediction
Pescara will be still reeling after their 3-0 drubbing to Lazio and the Delfini will likely take a very cautious approach here. As noted before, they have yet to win a game on actual results this season and will try to keep things very tight whilst hoping to strike on the counter.
Torino, however, will be feeling a bit better after shutting out Empoli, but will want to make their superiority count with a win. If one is looking for an exciting game, full of goals, one is best advised to look elsewhere. This has less than 2.5 goals written all over it; in fact, do not be surprised if this finishes as a low-scoring stalemate.
