Patriotas vs Corinthians
Date: Thursday, 29th June 2017
Kick off at 01:45 UK/ 02:45 CET
Venue: Estadio de la Independencia.
Patriotas Boyaca have been dealt one of the toughest second round draws in this term of Copa Sudamericana as they are set to take on the competition’s main favourites Corinthians.
The first leg is scheduled for Wednesday evening at Estadio de la Independencia where the Colombians will be hoping to gain at least some sort of advantage ahead of the rematch in Sao Paulo.
Diego Corredor has plenty of reasons to be worried ahead of the tie with the current leaders in the top flight of the Brazilian football.
Patriotas came 11th in Colombian’s Primera A Apertura which has left the team without the qualification for the final series of the competition (only top eight clubs are eligible).
Moreover, the team from Boyaca has not played a single competitive match since the end of May when they claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Chilean Everton in the first round of Copa Sudamericana.
Fabio Carille has different type of issues since his team might feel the consequence of playing in a very tough Saturday/Wednesday rhythm at the start of the competition in Serie A.
However, Timao have been on a hot run of form ever since the beginning of the season and they currently dominate the Brazilian football being four points clear at the top of the standings after ten rounds of the competition.
