Partizan vs Dynamo Kyiv
UEFA Europa League
Date: 28th September 2017
Kick off at 20:05 UK/ 21:05 CET
Venue: Stadion Partizana.
Dynamo Kyiv survived Skenderbeu Korce threat on the opening day with three second-half goals and they will travel to the Serbian capital as clear favourites to grab the second victory of the campaign this Thursday when the Ukrainian giants play Partizan Belgrade.
The hosts have already done a massive job by reaching the group stage of the competition (the Serbian champions eliminated Videoton in the playoffs round), but they showed a decent display in the first round at Young Boys (1-1 draw) which raised the spirits ahead of the second round meeting with the group’s favourites.
The Leandre Tawamba and Zoran Tosic are the main stars and they are expected to lead the team towards a potential upset against Dynamo.
Aleksandr Khatskevich’s side suffered a disappointing Champions League elimination to Young Boys (third qualifying round), but they took five consecutive wins in all competitions ever since the 2-0 defeat in the second leg in Switzerland.
However, the fine run was terminated last weekend when Dynamo Kyiv dropped the ball by playing a goalless draw with the fourth-placed Veres in the domestic league campaign leaving their arch-rivals Skahktar Dontesk on a five-point gap at the top of the standings.
