Parma vs Genoa: Prediction
Parma, currently 12th in the Serie A standings, fell to a narrow defeat away to SPAL in the previous round, and they will be looking to bounce back on Sunday, when they take on Genoa.
The Gialloblu’s have improved their record at Ennio Tardini with two wins over Sassuolo (1-0) and Torino (3-2), and will strive to extend winning streak to three games aganst out-of-form opponent. Laurini is questionable for this one.
Genoa dropped to 19th position after 1-2 home defeat against AC Milan. They will try to snap 5-game winless streak this weekend, but their away record does not inspire confidence whatsoever.
The Rossoblu’s picked up only one point on the road this season (3-3 draw vs Roma in the season opener), and got smashed by Cagliari (1-3) and Lazio (0-4).
Several important players will miss this game – Biraschi, Saponara and Romero are suspended, Sturaro and Criscito are injured.
The Gialloblu’s are scoring 1.25 goals per game at home, whilst conceding slightly more – 1.5 per match. Gervinho and Kulusevski have the ability to cause all sorts of problems to heavily weakened Genoa backline.
Genoa have an average of 1.33 goals bagged per game on the road, but they are conceding way more – an abysmal 3.33 goals per bout. Without Domenico Criscito, heart and soul of this team, and Juventus loanee, Cristian Romero, they will struggle to contain the hosts.
All things considered, I will gladly back Parma in this one, albeit in safer, draw-no-bet market since odds are surprisingly good, and, as an alternative, I’ll pick them to score at least two goals here with tasty odds.
