Germany – Bundesliga
Date: Sunday, 2 February 2020

SC Paderborn will be hoping to pull off another upset when they welcome Wolfsburg to the Benteler-Arena in Sunday’s Bundesliga clash.
Paderborn vs Wolfsburg: Match Preview
Antwi-Adjei scored his first Bundesliga goal for Paderborn and Sabiri converted a late penalty as Steffen Baumgart’s men pulled off the bottom of the table with a 2-0 win at European aspirants Freiburg.
A new hope for Paderborn as the ultimate Bundesliga underdogs managed their third victory in last six matches to breathe new life into relegation dogfight; they’ve overcome Fortuna, climbed up to 17th after being dead last since the league started with survival and Mainz being just three points away.
They must do better at Benteler-Arena though, with just two wins and a draw from ten matches, only Bremen is doing worse than them at home; they did school Eintracht three weeks ago but Leverkusen blew them apart last time they played here.
The Wolves were on top for the vast majority of the encounter but ultimately went unrewarded for a dominant display against Hertha Berlin in their first home match of 2020, losing 2-1 to a last-minute goal at the Volkswagen Arena.
Tough times for the Wolves continue, as they’ve managed their third consecutive defeat, seventh in the last ten games which puts them safety in the middle of the table at 10th but it’s a shame since their fans were hoping for well overdue return to continental football after brilliant start to the season.
On the road, Oliver Glasner’s mercenaries managed three successive losses, which is , again, far cry from the beginning of the year; since September, they’ve won just four points touring across Germany.
Luca Kilian and Babacar Gueye will miss out for Paderborn through injuries whilst Klaus Gjasula and Jamilu Collins are both suspended.
Xaver Schlager, Niklas Klinger and Ignacio Camacho are out for the Wolves.

Paderborn vs Wolfsburg: Prediction
Paderborn’s fans aren’t used to seeing insane scorelines, unless powerhouses like Bayern, Dortmund or Leipzig comes to visit. Their matches are usually tight affairs, with one, rarely two goals deciding a winner.
This will just be amplified when Wolfsburg arrives as they’re the Burnley of Germany, tough, uncompromising side and I guess we won’t see much excitement and football being played on Sunday night.
That being said… I’d like to back Paderborn to snatch it. Yes, it’s risky. Yes, on paper, the Wolves are much better side. But they’re also so out of form and Paderborn has seen an uprising. They had the lead back in August at Wolfsburg, with Die Wölfe scraping to come back to a draw and I believe they’ll give them a game once more and luckily see it through the end.
