Brighton return to the league duties on Wednesday evening when they visit The City Ground for the Matchday No 33 clash against Nottingham Forest.
The Seagulls suffered a painful defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup semifinal on Sunday afternoon, losing on penalties after a goalless draw in both regular time and extra time.
It was a strong overall performance form Roberto De Zerbi’s troops who showed great character and stability all over the pitch, especially at the back, keeping hold of the Red Devils’ stars in the 120 minutes of action at Wembley Stadium.
Brighton now have three games in hand on most of the teams in the league, They dropped to 8th place but will have a nice chance to catch up with the clubs above them in case of a potential winning streak in the run in.
The first next opportunity for a bounce back comes on Wednesday night against the struggling Nottingham Forest side.
Nottingham offered a brave display on Saturday afternoon at Anfield but they eventually had to settle for a narrow 3-2 defeat to Liverpool.
It was the fourth straight loss for the Reds who have allowed at least two goals in four successive Premier League games.
Steve Cooper’s men are now second from bottom in the league table and they desperately need a result here.
