Norwich City must win against Watford to keep their survival hopes alive, in the midweek Premier League fixture on Wednesday.
The Canaries are 19th in the league table with 31 points, 4 points below the 17th placed Sunderland, who will be in action against Everton at the same time. A win for Sunderland will surely ensure Norwich’s relegation, regardless them winning against Watford.
The Hornets have nothing to play for and are likely to finish in the bottom half of the table as they are currently 13th in the standings with 44 points. The team has done exceptionally well in the first half of the season, but year 2016 is something they want to forget when looking forward to the next season.
Norwich City are coming on the back of four consecutive defeats in the league. Interestingly they haven’t scored a single goal in any of those defeats. Three of those four defeats came by the 1-0 score line. Their home record is also not that encouraging as they managed just 5 points from their last 8 matches at the Carrow Road.
Watford won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2 of their last five Premier League games. But their away form is poor as they had lost 4 of their last 5 games. The Hornets scored just 2 goals in their last five away games, also failed to score in three of the last 5.
Norwich City: Team News
Alexander Tettey, Timm Klose and Andre Wisdom are already injured and ruled out for the remainder of the season and they are now joined by Jonny Howson. There is another blow to Alex Neil as center defender Ryan Bennett is a doubt as is likely to miss out on Wednesday’s team sheet.
Norwich City: Predicted Line-up (4-4-1-1)
Ruddy – Pinto, Martin, Bassong, Olsson – Redmond, O’Neil, Dorrans, Brady – Hoolahan – Mbokani.
Watford: Team News
Etienne Capoue and Valon Behrami remains sidelined with respective injuries, while Joel Ekstrand and Tommie Hoban are short of match fitness.
Nyom and Amrabat are likely to return to the starting line-up and otherwise things are expected to remain the same as in the previous clash against Liverpool.
Watford: Predicted Line-up (4-4-2)
Gomes – Nyom, Prodl, Britos, Anya – Amrabat, Watson, Suarez, Jurado – Ighalo, Deeney.

Norwich City Vs Watford: Prediction
Norwich City are desperate for a win here and hope Sunderland lose against Everton, so they have a final chance to earn safety in the final day of English Premier League season. The Canaries have lost in all of their last four matches and failed to score in each of those and they have a mammoth task against Watford on Wednesday.
Watford are not in great form and have won just twice in their last 10 Premier League games, though the 2 wins came in the last 5 league games. They are a much more relaxed side as they have no threat of relegation and head-coach Quique Sanchez Flores will be looking to finish the season on a high. And they could make things harder for a desperate Norwich City.
I expect an exciting clash on Wednesday and hope to see a rejuvenated Norwich against an inconsistent Watford. A win is necessary for them, but I believe Watford will sneak a draw here.
My prediction for this match is 1-1 and this will sent Norwich to the Championships, if Sunderland manage draw against Everton.
